Aegera Therapeutics is a clinical stage biotechnology company focused on developing drugs that control apoptosis to address major unmet medical needs. Aegera currently has three programs in clinical development for oncology and one program in neuropatic pain.

  AEG35156 targets the key anti-apoptotic protein XIAP, and is currently in multiple Phase II human clinical trials for the treatment of solid tumors and leukemia;

  AEG41174 is a novel, non-ATP competitive, small molecule tyrosine kinase inhibitor targeting therapeutically significant kinases including JAK2 and Bcr-Abl, and is currently in Phase 1 clinical studies;

  AEG40826 (HGS1029) is a small molecule IAP inhibitor that has shown promising preclinical activity alone and in combination with other anti-neoplastic agents across a broad range of cancers. A collaboration and license agreement was completed in December 2007 whereby Human Genome Sciences, Inc. (Nasdaq: HGSI) acquired exclusive rights to develop and commercialize small-molecule IAP inhibitors in oncology;

  AEG33773 is a first-in-class orally bioavailable small molecule currently in a P1 trial for the treatment of painful diabetic neuropathy.

Corporate Strategy

Effectively and efficiently develop novel medications for the treatment of significant, poorly-treated human diseases.

Leverage our knowledge, expertise and intellectual property to bring novel, apoptosis-modulating chemical entities to clinical development.

Actively seek in-licensing opportunities that can rapidly be brought to human proof-of-concept clinical testing using our extensive pre-clinical and early clinical development expertise.

Seek top-tier global and regional partners for mid to late-stage partnering and carefully evaluate earlier stage partnerships where intellectual and development synergies can significantly accelerate program development.
