Aegera Therapeutics, part of Pharmascience Inc., is focused on developing targeted therapeutics to address major unmet medical needs. Aegera focuses on preclinical and early-stage clinical development through integration of "in-house" medicinal chemistry, biochemistry, cell biology, pharmacokinetics and in vivo pharmacology/efficacy. Aegera has one oncology program in clinical development and several preclinical programs. Aegera is also dedicated to identifying novel development candidates based upon its core technologies, internal expertise and experience in rapidly moving lead candidates through preclinical development and into clinical trials.
- HGS1029 is a small molecule pan-IAP inhibitor that has demonstrated very promising preclinical activity across a broad range of cancers. A license and collaboration agreement was completed in December 2007 with Human Genome Sciences, Inc. (Nasdaq:HGSI) and HGS1029 is currently progressing in Phase 1 - solid tumor study.
- Aegera has several preclinical stage programs targeting key proteins involved in oncology and autoimmune/inflammatory diseases, including a small molecule Bruton's tyrosine kinase (Btk) inhibitor program.
- Leverage our knowledge, expertise and intellectual property to bring targeted therapeutics from preclinical development to clinical proof of concept.
- Seek top-tier global and regional partners for our clinical development programs and carefully evaluate earlier stage partnerships where intellectual, research and development synergies can significantly accelerate program development.
- In-license or acquire new therapeutic candidates that can rapidly be brought to human proof-of-concept clinical testing by leveraging our proven preclinical and early clinical development expertise and targeted therapeutic focus.
